Kareem George here, on location in Brazil and now off to Salvador de Bahia, the first capital of Brazil. Our wonderful Abercrombie & Kent USA hosts make the journey seamless. Transit is easy and after a 2.5 hour flight from São Paulo we touch down in this cultural capital, rich in history. Over the next several days we will engage in several immersive experiences, including a cooking class and drumming workshop!
A few interesting facts:
- the state of Bahia, of which Salvador is the capital, is the size of the country of France
- nearly 4 million people come to Salvador annually to celebrate carnival
