Kareem George here, thrilled to finally be onboard Explora Journeys Explora I, cruising the Caribbean. For our dear travelers that feel cruising is not for them, I look forward to your feedback on my forthcoming posts at sea 🙂
One of the many unique features of Explora Journeys is the culinary approach. This evening I enjoyed a 2-Michelin star dining experience curated by renowned Swedish chef Emma Bengtsson of the celebrated New York City restaurant, Aquavit.
As you will see, each course was beautiful, flavorful, unique and paired with a wonderful wine. I was delighted from the very beginning, by the savory gravlax amuse-bouche, and then completely transported when the journey officially began with caviar! The rest is history…
Anthology, Explora’s fine dining restaurant, showcases global cooking talents and cuisines, provenance and rare ingredients, along with wines by highly coveted winemakers. If you are foodie, you will be very content sailing with Explora Journeys.
The evening was made even more exceptional by the presence of Chef Bengtsson. She was friendly, highly engaging and warm, yet quietly humble. I look forward to seeing her onboard as a ‘normal’ person throughout the week. Plus, I hope to receive some restaurant recommendations for my trip to Stockholm this summer!
More on dining onboard to come, however my next post will focus on the residential feel of the ship: inviting, thoughtfully designed interiors, rich fabrics, unique furnishings. The ambience is that of a European design hotel. You just happen to be at sea!
