The weekend is never long enough in Miami...

Balmy Caribbean breezes, sweeping vistas, sparkling waters and a vibrant pace – Miami is consistently a wonderful getaway. We are enjoying the Memorial Day holiday being well tended to at some of our favorite hotels and restaurants.

The Hotel Beaux Arts perches above an excellent central location atop the JW Marriott Marquis in downtown Miami. Occupying the top floors of the building, one arrives by special elevator access and is greeted warmly in a small reception lobby.

Incredible views abound from guest rooms, the breakfast area and intimate bar. The JW fitness center and spa, located on the 20th floor, are well equipped. Clean, contemporary furnishing set a relaxed mood.

Guests are welcomed to enjoy complimentary hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar during happy hour. We gathered with friends for a glass of wine before enjoying a wonderful dinner at Seaspice on the Miami river.

The restaurant was hopping when we arrived shortly after 8pm and even busier when we left after 11pm. Attentive, fast service, a snappy crowd and excellent food. Amongst many delicious dishes the grilled octopus appetizer was a standout – so fresh, it melts in your mouth.

We enjoyed a nightcap at Zuma, located in the Epic Hotel. It was fun to sit at the bar and count down to the end of the day. Located directly across the street from the JW Marriott Marquis/Hotel Beaux Arts, the location could not have been more perfect. Shortly after midnight we were back, enjoying views of the twinkling city lights from the 39th floor before drifting off.
